It is recommended to plant your hot peppers close together, but you can also plant these peppers with other vegetables to allow some shelter from the sun to keep them from drying out. You can plant your peppers with tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, escarole, okra, swiss chard and squash. Some companion herbs are basil, oregano, parsley and rosemary. Keep your hot peppers away from beans, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and fennel.
