Big Bluestem, Andropogon gerardii
Big Bluestem is an important native warm season plains grass that normally grows 3-8′ high. It is recognized for its rapid growth, especially in mid-to-late summer. It is highly palatable with high protein value and produces excellent hay as well as soil erosion control. Its root system can extend up to 12′. It is winter hardy and suited to almost all soil types.

Small Areas: 2-3 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
