Description
Texas Bluebonnet
This famous Texas Lupine is found in the wild along roadsides and fields of the southwestern hill country of Texas and New Mexico. The tall blue and white spikes of Bluebonnet flowers form in the spring over sage-green foliage. In the south, plant in the late fall for spring bloom. Other areas start indoors in the early spring for later transplanting, or direct sow after last frost date. The seed is extremely hard and soaking in hot water for a couple of days before planting may aid germination.
