Description
Desert Marigold
This is a quick-growing species, native to desert areas of the southwest and extremely successful in most hot, dry areas. Golden daisy-like flowers, bloom heavily in mid-season on long stems with wooly, silvery-green basal foliage. This short-lived perennial (dies below 32 deg.) will re-seed itself easily. The plants will thrive in poor, dry soils. Plant seeds in the fall, 1/4″ deep for best results. To plant in the spring, place seeds in moist peat moss in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks before planting.
