Description
Purple Top White Globe Turnip
This heirloom European turnip variety is grown both for its mild-flavored, crisp roots and its green leaves. The roots are round and smooth with a purple shoulder and white beneath.
Grow purple top turnip in cool weather for the best flavor and pull when the globes are 3” across.
Peas fix nitrogen in the soil, therefore, making them a great companion plant for turnips. Turnips will also help repel pests from your cabbage. Do not plant other root vegetables with your turnips because they will compete for nutrients and reduce your yield.
